Scepticism Lingers around Bitcoin Creator’s Unveling

Who is scammer?
Doubts and questions surrounding Craig Wright’s claims of being the creator of Bitcoin have already been cast, following the Australian entrepreneur’s public reveal of being the inventor of the cryptocurrency.
It was early December 2015 when reports from Wired and Gizmodo revealed that a then 44-year old Australian computer scientist, entrepreneur, and businessman was likely to be Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonymous and secretive inventor of Bitcoin.
At the time, investigations by both WIRED and Gizmodo into pointing the finger at Craig Wright as Bitcoin’s inventor had WIRED claim that it had “obtained the strongest evidence yet of Satoshi Nakamoto’s true identity.
Still, there was a disclaimer from WIRED which claimed that Craig Wright really did invent the world’s most popular cryptocurrency or, alternatively, he was “a brilliant hoaxer who very badly wants us to believe that he did [invent Bitcoin.]”
Today, the BBC, The Economist and GQ have, following exclusive access to Craig Wright, published reports on Wright’s claims to be the person behind the moniker of Satoshi Nakamoto as Bitcoin’s inventor.
However, just as skepticism followed the original reports from late 2015, discussions in social media from observers and enthusiasts of bitcoin quickly took to refuting the proof offered by Craig Wright.
Notably, even The Economist, one of three publications who interviewed Craig Wright stated:
Our conclusion is that Mr Wright could well be Mr Nakamoto, but that important questions remain.
Speaking to the BBC while offering proof that he is indeed Satoshi Nakamoto, Craig Wright added:
Some people will believe [that he is Satoshi], some people won’t. To tell you the truth, I don’t really care.
What’s certain is that Wright’s claims will certainly offer and result in extensive debate about Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity over the coming days and weeks.
The discussion about the potential impact of Satoshi Nakamoto’s unveiling for Bitcoin, the blocksize debate and more is only getting started.
