itBit CEO Chad Cascarilla recently joined Bitcoin and financial industry leaders at the Museum of American Finance in NYC for a night of lively discussion around Bitcoin and its potential impact on how we conduct and approach payments.
The evening kicked off with a 30-minute fireside chat featuring Former Treasury Security Lawrence H. Summers. Mr. Summers offered a cautiously optimisitc view of bitcoin and explained that increased regulation is required if bitcoin is to achieve a greater level of legitimacy and mainstream adoption. The chat was hosted by WSJ journalist, and co-author of The Age of Cryptocurrency: How Bitcoin and Digital Money Are Challenging the Global Economic Order, Michael Casey.
The fireside chat was followed by a panel discussion featuring Jeremy Allaire (CEO of Circle), Lawrence Goodman (President of the Center for Financial Stability) and itBit's Chad Cascarilla. The panel was moderated by the WSJ's Paul Vigna who co-authored The Age of Cryptocurrency with Mr. Casey. The panel discussion touched on a variety of topics ranging from bitcoin regulation to future use cases for Bitcoin and blockchain technology.
